Did you just listen to that remix? It’s a three-way collaboration and it certainly sounds like one. The mix is a blend between two of our favorites, Blue Satellite and Epitone, and one new celebrity producer we’re just now placing on the kpop radar — KATFYR. If you’re familiar with each of these producers’ work you can hear the sounds the structure each contributes to the mix; and it’s a harmonious blend at that. More comments after the jump.
After listening to this remix a few times over, you have to realize that this is no longer Gangnam Style. It’s something completely different now. It’s an EDM machine that happens to have some PSY lyrics over it. It’s a song that builds for the breaks beautifully executed by KATFYR and Blue Satellite.
To us, this remix was made for the bridge and final chorus (beginning at 3:00 in the video) . The first 2/3rds of the song is setting the stage. Though the first 2/3rds of this song are with heavy breaks and (is it fair to say?) a nu-disco kick, what it’s really doing is preparing the listener for the super-heavy final chorus. The producers even pitch-bend PSY’s accapella (at 3:47) before the final drop because it’s just that intense. And it’s that final drop that your crowd will go buck-ass-wild. There’s more complexity and sounds layered in the final chorus than anywhere else in the song, and it totally rocks.
The remix as a whole is incredibly DJ-friendly: it has a very stripped-down intro, and the extended outro isn’t dropped to the kick & snare too abruptly from the amazing end-chorus. When quick mixing, we recommend starting from the bridge as this is where all the action is.
Because we’re going to try and promote this remix on other music blogs & channels, please feel free to take our mp3 provided link above. We’ll front the bandwidth. 🙂

What started as just a playful remix of Gangnam Style turned into a collaboration of epic proportions! Initially, I had started this remix and invited my long time friend, Blue Satellite, to help me remix this viral song! After getting the remix kicked off, we acquired the talents of the amazing KATFYR and the rest is history. Working in a group really brought us together and forged a lasting friendship between us all. It is possible you may see us collaborating again in the near future!

KATFYR is also one of the rare producers out there who is a perfectionist when it comes to his music. His understanding of production is awe-inspiring and he is no stranger to the music scene. KATFYR recently had the privilege of releasing two new remixes of Emma Hewitt’s “Rewind” and “Foolish Boy” on the legendary trance label Armada Music.
