You’re somewhere around 130 BPM and you need to transition to a track at 100. Such a tempo jump isn’t easy to pull off live right away, but that’s what transition tracks are for.Pulling from a DJ TechTools tutorial, P Lo threw together this quick transition to get from the top 40/house ranges into something for hip hop. While there were plenty of these transition tracks for top 40, we thought to throw this quickie together for the kpop DJ.
The track is pretty simple to use: it starts at 126 BPM and breaks to 97 at the cymbal. Loop the first 8 bars if you need more room to make the transition from your house track. For Traktor users, it may be best to set beat grids at the start of the track and at the end of the cymbal break to mark the new BPM changes.
While you’re welcome to let the song long-play, we find that the best method to mix-out is on one of the choruses.
