[140 BPM, KEY OF EM] G-Dragon – Crayon (Epitone Trap Remix)

G-Trap

Get your trap on.
Meori eokkae mureup bal. Swag check swag check.

Before leaving to complete his own EP, Epitone left us with this K-trap gem. The Crayon remix is great for sets already jamming to the 70/140 trap genre, but we’ve personally dropped this track at anime and kpop gigs where top 40s were the hit. What we found was that the kids will fan-chant and sway to this hit. It’s a track nicely juxtaposed with Jun Areia’s PSY Gentleman mix for those who like to keep things twerk. Continue reading

[128 BPM Key of Dm] Psy – Gangnam Style (KATFYR, Blue Satellite, Epitone Remix)

Holy shit.

Did you just listen to that remix? It’s a three-way collaboration and it certainly sounds like one.  The mix is a blend between two of our favorites, Blue Satellite and Epitone, and one new celebrity producer we’re just now placing on the kpop radar — KATFYR. If you’re familiar with each of these producers’ work you can hear the sounds the structure each contributes to the mix; and it’s a harmonious blend at that. More comments after the jump. [128 BPM Key of Cm] 2NE1 – I Love You (Epitone Remix) Club Vers. Extended.

Following the feeling of the original, Eptione created his own remix with prog house synths and highly reverberated chords. It wouldn’t be an Epitone remix without its own dirty dutch instrumental break midway through — which we totally dig. Though Epitone posted this a while back, we hadn’t noticed his extended edit until now.

For some reason, we missed this one. We even started on our own edit of the Epitone Remix because we thought he wasn’t making a version for the DJ crowd. In any case, it’s here. He leads into the intro verse very gently so make sure your previous track isn’t too hard hitting before jumping into this one.

Having mixed with the non-extended version of this track before, we also found that using Epitone’s instrumental (starting at 1:45 in this club version) is a great way to mix in from a previous track that may have been bass heavy. Continue reading

[128 BPM Key of Gmaj] BIG BANG (빅뱅) – Blue (Epitone Remix vs eHash ReWork)

Songs in major keys are rare. A few months ago Epitone released his orchestral remix of Big Bang’s “Blue.” Because it’s so rare to have a song in a major key we wanted to make sure DJ’s could add this number to their sets. A sentimental single with strings in a major key makes this remix a nice note to close a set on, but we provide both an intro and outro in case you’d like to keep the gig going. The song carries a stronger kick throughout should the dancers need a beat to move to.

Extend-it: [130 BPM Key of Dm] 4Minute – Volume Up (Epitone Remix)

It is a rare opportunity to play a club-banger with a steamy alto sax. 4minute’s volume up was remixed by the dirty dutch remixer, Epitone, a couple months back but we hadn’t had the time to touch it until now. We love his version of the track but it is unfortunately without an dj-intro to make mixing easy.

So we created our own 32 beat edit of the track for Dj’s to drop in clubs. Because we grabbed audio from the outro, there’s a bit of phasing occurring on in this intro edit, but it’s the best we could do without a clean instrumental from Epitone. Epitone, ya listenin’? We like dj-friendly versions of your club edits, so please make them club-friendly for DJs.

Like the original, the PLo ghetto-unmastered edit of the track is up for download at 130 BPM in the key of Dm.

Epitone Releases Big Bang Fantastic Baby Remix

BOOM SHAKALAKA.

Epitone gives us another kpop banger to get crunk to. Following his gig at Club Marquee in NYC, Pete decided to make his remix public. From what we gather, it sounds like he worked on this track with a high schooler with some nice toys. We won’t comment much on this release, but we like it. Epitone had us DJs in mind with this release with a clean extended intro and outro. Download it here.

The usual info: 130 BPM in the Key of Dm.
